Description
This is a set of 6" x 6" American Encaustic tiles salvaged from a late 1800's home in Hot Springs, Virginia. The 17 tiles feature a glossy, mottled light green and brown glaze with a crazed surface. The tiles were manufactured by American Encaustic Tile Co., salvaged from a circa 1890 Free Classic Victorian house in Hot Springs, Virginia. The salvage of this property was featured in season 7, episode 6 of the DIY network show "Salvage Dawgs".
The surround is comprised of 17 complete tiles and, assembled as shown, measures 36"H x 43"W. Each tile is 6" x 6" x 1/2" thick. Some tiles have minor chips. See photos for details.
