Available Stock: 2

Wooden fluted pilaster with a temple of the winds capital. The low profile of this pilaster makes a great accent for anywhere space is a premium. The acanthus leaves adorned to the sides of the capital appear to be blowing upwards toward the abacus, the square component at the top of the capital, indicates the temple of the winds style of capital. This pilaster was salvaged from a teacherage, built in 1920, in Henderson, North Carolina. A teacherage is housing, provided by a school or city, for educators. Often, teachers that were employed were young and single, making housing difficult to afford. Therefore, to lessen financial burden, a teacherage would allow the educators to live communally.
