Salvaged Oak Cider Vinegar Barrel, Knouse Foods, Lucky Leaf Brand, Steel Bands

This antique cider vinegar barrel was salvaged from a Virginia farm with a rich history, dating back to the 1600's when the property was a settlement of the Native American Kiskiack tribe. The barrel is constructed of oak staves and steel bands. The base of the barrel reads, "Knouse Foods Cooperative, Inc., Lucky Leaf Brand, Pure Cider Vinegar, ... 1/2 Gals, Full Strength"

Condition: Good condition for age and use! Oak shows expected wear and patina. Though some a few staves are slightly askew, the barrel is still sturdy. Lid is not included.

History: The barrel was acquired from a family farm with a rich historic background in Yorktown, Virginia. Initially a settlement for the Native American Kiskiack Tribe until the 1600's when Poquoson Parish was founded, later known as Charles Parish.
