6 panel door with brass hardware and a hinged, 3-light transom, in jamb. One side of the door is painted white, the opposing side has been left natural. This door was salvaged from a teacherage, built in 1920, in Henderson, North Carolina. A teacherage is housing, provided by a school or city, for educators. Often, teachers that were employed were young and single, making housing difficult to afford. Therefore, to lessen financial burden, a teacherage would allow the educators to live communally. Weight: 94 lbs, 93H x 8D x 33.75W. Door only: 32" x 79.25".
