Description

This vintage marine searchlight cover was salvaged from a fireboat built in 1960, serving Baltimore, Maryland, from 1961 until it was decommissioned in 2007. The steel cover measures 23" in diameter, featuring the iconic General Electric logo embossed in the center of the piece. Marine grade gray paint coats the front of the lid, while the opposing side has been left unpainted.

A perfect item to repurpose or display.

Condition: The lid is in good condition, with surface issues due to exposure to harsh nautical conditions; including rust, pitting and paint loss.

History: This cover was salvaged from the Mayor J Harold Grady, a 6000 GPM (gallon per minute) fireboat built in 1960, serving Baltimore, Maryland, from 1961 until it was decommissioned in 2007. This fireboat and items from it are featured on Season 10, Episode 8, of the Diy Network show, "Salvage Dawgs".
