Description

This oversized wall mural is a lush, sepia-toned print of a community gathering for a barbeque in 1925 for a school dedication. It features the townsfolk in beautiful period clothing loosely assembled as a town leader presents a plaque with a mounted key. The photo has been labeled, February 19th, 1925, and titled, "Barbecue at Dedication of New School Building". This piece is a true snapshot in time. The black and white print has been applied to natural, unfinished plywood, lending a sepia tone to the image.
The piece is surrounded by a 3" black border and is comprised of 4 unframed sections each measuring 48 1/2"W x 72"H. Assembled, the piece measures 194"W x 72"H.

This art mural was salvaged from a barbecue restaurant located on the Boulevard at the Cap Center shopping center in Largo, Maryland. This restaurant and items from it are featured on Season 10, Episode 12, of the DIY Network show, "Salvage Dawgs".
