This industrial feeder hopper assembly, manufactured by Wallace & Tiernan Co. is composed entirely of steel. The lower brackets and gearbox are coated in flakey gray paint with surface rust below. The hopper funnel has worn gray paint on the exterior, while the interior is coated in red paint with moderate rust spotting. This assembly is in good salvaged condition and has excellent potential for upcycling or repurposing. We think this would make a fabulous oversized industrial pendant light!
An almost identical match to this assembly is also available, please see item EHOPP.
This hopper was salvaged from the water treatment plant of the former Rock Hill Printing and Finish Company facility in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Known as "The Bleachery" to locals, the facility was comprised of 6 buildings, the earliest dating back to 1925, and a reservoir. The water treatment plant was added in 1930 under a bond issued by the citizens of Rock Hill. The water plant, and items from it, are featured on Season 10, Episode 7, of the DIY Network Show, "Salvage Dawgs".
