Description

This gorgeous, entryway system is the perfect feature to bring sophisticated elegance to the façade of your home or business. The grand entryway includes an open pediment, fluted pilasters, a 4 lite transom, and a recessed, 6-panel door.

Door and Transom Details: The 6-raised-panel door measures 1 3/4"(D) x 38 3/4"(W) x 77 3/4"(H) and is painted dark blue on the exterior, and white on the interior.
A beautiful, 4 lite transom is placed above the door, and measures 39"(W) x 12 1/2"(H).
Decorative Molding, Casing and Pilasters: The door and transom are surrounded by a 25 3/4" deep recess, decorated by raised panels. The recessed area is surrounded by molded casing. Wide fluted pilasters flank the left and right sides of the door and lead up to a simple molded entablature with dentil molding along the top.

Pediment Detail: A large, open or "broken" pediment crowns the entryway. It features a finely detailed pineapple finial and floral rosettes. The finial measures roughly 7"(D) x 9"(W) x 17 1/2"(H), each rosette measures 10 1/2".

Exterior Lighting: Two classic, 22", lantern style sconces flank the entry. Each 22" x 8"W x 11"D sconce is mounted upon each pilaster.

Opening Requirement: This unit will fit in a 27"(D) x 42 7/8"(W) x 98"(H) opening, with the exterior details set flush against the exterior façade.

Condition: This entryway is in good condition with minor cosmetic flaws. A piece of the casing surrounding the molding has a piece broken off at the top right side. The rear of the entryway is unfinished, as it is designed to set flush against the exterior façade.

Additional measurements are listed below. We are happy to provide additional photos and information about this entryway.

History: This entryway was salvaged from a house in Martinsville, Virginia, built in 1940 by architect William Roy Wallace. Unfortunately, this house fell victim to an electrical fire and was condemned. As a result, the team from Black Dog Salvage were enlisted by the owners to tackle this sentimental job. This property and items from it are featured on Season 10, Episode 9, of the Diy Network show, "Salvage Dawgs".
