This display includes a Maytag Hit and Miss Engine and a Myers and Bros. water pump engine. The Hit and Miss is a four-stroke internal combustion engine that was conceived in the late 19th century and was produced by various companies from the 1890's to the 1940's. The other engine is a F.E. Myers and Bro. from Ashland, Ohio. In 1915, Myers & Bro. was the biggest manufacturer in Ashland, producing water pumps and hay tools and employed a workforce of nearly 800 people. A unique display of two hard working engines.
