Cool Phenolic Resin Tube, red in color, salvaged from the American Viscose Plant in Roanoke, Virginia. They were used to wind the yarn around. When new they were smooth, but after years of workers cutting faulty fibers from the spool, they have a wonderful lined texture. Phenolic resins were used to make items such as billiard balls, kitchen gadgets, pot handles, etc.
