Self Damping Stove, Incomplete

Basic, likely homemade, wood stove with incomplete self-damping assembly. The damping assembly consists of a hinged flap covering a pipe that extends from the bottom left side of the stove. The flap is connected to a weighted arm that controls the position of the flap over the opening. A horizontal pulley situated underneath the arm on a threaded rod can be raised or lowered when spun depending on the direction the pulley spins, in turn opening and closing the flap. This pulley likely would have had a wire or cable wound around it and connected to a thermostat type of device such as a bimetallic strip controlling the position of the cable. This stove is in rusty condition. This stove was salvaged from a former gas station and general store in Grottoes, Virginia, as seen in Season 9, Episode 9, of the DIY Network show, "Salvage Dawgs". Weight: 110 lbs. Item Measurements: 30(L) x 23(W) x 30(H)
