Tanker Desk with Built-In Typewriter

Steel tanker desk manufactured by the Invincible Metal Furniture Company with built-in swing-out typewriter platform and 1952 Hermes Ambassador typewriter. This desk has 3 drawers below a writing pad in the left pedestal. In the right pedestal, a single cabinet opens to reveal a mechanical swing out platform holding a highly praised and collectable Swedish made Hermes Ambassador typewriter in excellent condition. This cabinet has a faux wood enameled finish on the steel base, with a vinyl cream-colored top. The top has some shallow dents and dings. Finish has worn off in areas inside of the pedestals where one would sit and pull out or push in a chair.
This desk was salvaged from the former location of Roanoke Printing Company in downtown Roanoke, Virginia, as the circa 1929 building is prepared to be converted to lofts.
