Description

This beautiful cast iron Kohler tub was manufactured in 1916 by Kohler. It was salvaged from an 1890's Georgian mansion, known as "Laverock Hill", in Glenside, Pennsylvania. The drop in tub is 68" length with a beautiful, porcelain enameled finish. The tub basin measures 62" L x 24" W x 16 ½" H, with a 3 ½" flat rim.

Details: This tub has a predrilled waste drain hole and a predrilled hole in either the right or left front corner of the flat rim for antique waste-drain pull plumbing (not included).

Condition: This tub is in good condition. The porcelain enamel is in good shape, with some minor scratching and the usual dulling of the heavily worn areas on the bottom of the tub.

History: This tub was salvaged from an 1890's estate, known as "Laverock Hill Estate" in Glenside, Pennsylvania. The mansion was remodeled in 1915 by architect Charles A. Platt. Prior to renovation, this Georgian mansion was formerly known as "Falcon Hill", or the "Sims Estate". Items from this salvage job are featured on Season 9, Episode 2 of the DIY Network show "Salvage Dawgs".
