Description

This marble mantel was salvaged from the Kean Estate, a 17,000 square-foot Georgian mansion set atop the highest point in Livingston, New Jersey. This elegant 75.63" tall, 61" wide mantle features intricate detail and gold trim.

Condition: Very good salvaged condition The mantel shows five minor chips that have been photographed and saved for repair. Additional photos and a detailed list of components' dimensions and the condition of each is available upon request.

History: The mantel was salvaged from The Kean Estate, a 30-room stone mansion set atop the highest point in Livingston, New Jersey. The property was the original home of 10-term U.S. Congressman Robert W. Kean, the father of former Governor Thomas Kean. The sprawling mansion features 14 bedrooms, seven bathrooms, 15 fireplaces and two full kitchens. Some of the home's elements were recently salvaged by our team and the work is featured on the DIY Network show "Salvage Dawgs" [Season 11, Episode 6].
