Details: Manufactured by S&S X-Ray Products Inc., model 45CD4. Consists of 4 separate light boxes, each with a pair of 15 watt F15T8D fluorescent lamps, fastened together in a row with a control box with 4 switches mounted on the right side.
The housing is steel with a green powder coat finish. A 56" x 17" piece of semi translucent white acrylic spans the width of the box and is held in place by channels along the top and bottom edges of the unit.
Condition: This light box is in excellent condition, still in its original crate. It has been tested and functions properly. The wiring may need eventual replacement as the insulation has become stiff. We currently have two units in stock; one has a broken ground wire on its plug.
History: This was salvaged from Cascades Inn in Healing Springs, Virginia. This historic inn was comprised of a hotel built in 1850, with various renovations taking place in the early 1900's, and a motel built around the 1950's. During the civil war, the hotel was used as a hospital for sick soldiers. The Inn was also used as a storage location for various fixtures such as furniture and plumbing from the nearby Homestead resort.
Salvage History: Our team tackled the salvage of The Cascades Inn on Season 11, Episode 10, of the DIY Network show, "Salvage Dawgs". See Robert salvage this Xray box on the episode [featured at 7:09 and 9:46]!
