Cast-iron boiler access panel manufactured by Raymond Boilers. The front of this panel is coated in flakey green paint with two 1 1/4" thick handles positioned vertically across the face with roughly 9 3/4" of space between. "RAYMOND" in embossed in the center of the recessed area of the face. The outer edges of the panel have ten 7/8" holes bored around the perimeter for mounting. On the back of the piece, the center of the panel projects outward with a concave horizontal curve. This panel is in good condition with wear and tear consistent with use in an industrial environment and the age of the piece.
This was salvaged from the powerhouse of the former Rock Hill Printing and Finish Company facility in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Known as "The Bleachery" to locals, the facility was comprised of 6 buildings, the earliest dating back to 1925, and a reservoir. The power house, and items from it, are featured on Season 10, Episode 7, of the DIY Network Show, "Salvage Dawgs".
