28" x 49" Leaded Glass Window in Oak Sash, Diamond Pattern

This leaded glass window sash was salvaged from the Kean Estate, a 17,000 square-foot Georgian style stone mansion atop the highest point in Livingston, New Jersey. The property was the original home of 10-term U.S. Congressman Robert W. Kean. The window sash features a panel of diamond patterned wavy leaded glass below a piece of modern non-wavy glass of the same size held in a quarter sawn oak sash.

Details: This 2 lite window is comprised of two layers of 23 3/4"(W) x 21"(H) glass panels: wavy leaded glass and modern non-wavy glass held in a quarter sawn oak sash. The upper pane has adhesive lead came strips applied in a diamond pattern on both sides, reflecting the actual leaded glass panel below.

Condition: Very good. One side of the sash has a coat of weathered off-white paint, while the opposing side has a dark stained natural finish highlighting the beautiful grain patterning of the oak.

2 Windows Available: The faux came is mostly intact on both but may be missing from small areas.
Window #1 has 4 cracked panes in the leaded glass panel, 3 along the bottom edge, and one towards the middle of the panel.
Window #2 has 2 cracked panes, 1 along the top of the leaded panel and 1 along the bottom.

History: This window was salvaged from the Kean Estate, a 17,000 square-foot mansion sat atop the highest point in Livingston, New Jersey. This Georgian style stone mansion was the original home of 10-term U.S. Congressman Robert W. Kean, father of former Governor Thomas Kean. This sprawling residence features 14 bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, and 15 fireplaces.
