Description
This huge, 8 foot axial exhaust fan was salvaged from a textile mill in South Carolina. As stamped on the hub of the fan, it was manufactured by The Marley Co. in Kansas City, Missouri, made in U.S.A. The hub shows the "Serial Number" stamp of "G619". An excellent, authentic piece of industrial urban decor, the fan features 6 blades with all original manufacturers markings. Each propeller reads "Forward Edge and Rotation", Also found on the blades, part number "53-46C".
History: The historic Drayton Mill of Spartanburg, South Carolina was a major southern cotton and textile mill in operation from 1902-1995. At the height of their production they employed over 1200 people. The Drayton Mill salvage was featured in season 5, episode 1 of the DIY network show "Salvage Dawgs".
Condition: One blade has come unattached The fan has 6 blades with surface scuffs and patina as expected with use in an industrial setting.
