Description
Lower 9 lite wooden window sash with horns from a double hung window. This window is coated in chipped flakey white paint and contains 9 pieces of wavy glass each measuring 12" x 14". The sash horns project roughly 2 1/4" from the top of the sash. This window is in good salvaged condition, with weathering and wear throughout. The glazing putty is mostly intact but may need replacement if using in an exterior application.
This sash was salvaged from Cascades Inn in Healing Springs, Virginia. This historic inn was comprised of a hotel built in 1850, with various renovations taking place in the early 1900's, and a motel built around the 1950's. During the civil war, the hotel was used as a hospital for sick soldiers. The Inn was also used as a storage location for various fixtures such as furniture and plumbing from the nearby Homestead resort. The Cascades Inn and items from it are featured on Season 11, Episode 10, of the DIY Network show, "Salvage Dawgs".
