Description
Salvaged from Egypt, this set of 2 wrought iron gates is approximately 100-200 years old and sure to last at least another hundred. This is high quality iron, hot banded and riveted, with primarily no welds. This set has a beautiful straight top with hand wrought spear finials. The exterior side of the lower panel of each gate has a cast lead applique depicting acanthus foliage, the opposing side of the panel is plain. The upper picketed panels are decorated with wrought horseshoe scrolls at the top and bottom. The left gate is missing the lower row of decoration.
Condition: As is usual with salvaged architecture of this age. Light cosmetic and structural flaws are present.
