Description
This beautiful pedestal-sink was manufactured for J.L. Mott Iron Works (by Trenton Fire-Clay and Porcelain Works) in 1895. This "Imperial" sink features chrome fixtures including a porcelain-topped drain pull.
The sink was salvaged from the Maridor, an estate in Roanoke, Virginia built in 1916. The Maridor received its name from its third owner, Marion Augustus Smyth, President of National Business College who re-named the home "Maridor" after his two children, Marion and Dorothy. Condition: The sink is in excellent condition with some minor surface issues and chrome wear. The porcelain-glazed sink-bowl interior surface has some superficial pits/small chips. When the sink is assembled/in place, 2 small glaze chips at the top front of the pedestal cannot be seen. As expected with the age of the sink, the chrome fixtures have some wear, pitting and patina. Please see pictures. Measurements:
