Description
Details: 50.25" wide concrete frieze section with panel decoration. This piece has 3 recessed rectangular panels along the face with swag ornament gracing the center panel. The outside edges of the outer panels are not enclosed as this was used in a continuous frieze.
Condition: This piece is in good condition with small chips and possible cracks in areas, as well as discoloration from years of exposure to the elements. The mortar is still present in areas along the edges of the piece.
History: This frieze was salvaged from the former Moose Lodge in Jamestown, New York. This building, built in the late 1800's, was previously the mansion of John and Sarah Galloway, parents of the fabled "Lady in Glass". In 1932, the property was acquired by the local Moose Lodge Chapter which incorporated multiple additions to the grand structure. This building, and items from it, are featured on Season 11, Episode 2, of the Diy Network show, "Salvage Dawgs".
