Description

This ice maker and storage system is comprised of 5 pieces; an 1846 lb. capacity, model 1665-SS, ice storage bin manufactured by Kloppenberg, a set of 2 of model SY1474c half-dice ice cube maker heads manufactured by Manitowoc, each with an output of between 1235 lb. and 1400 lb. per day, and a set of 2 model CVD1485 outdoor condensing units also manufactured by Manitowoc.

The storage bin sits on adjustable feet and has a stainless-steel clad front and sides with a polyurethane foam insulated, plastic-lined, interior. The front of the bin has a single plastic flip top lid situated below a sliding clear acrylic viewing window. The interior has a small drain hole present in the center of the bottom surface.
This bin is in good, functional condition, but will need heavy cleaning and sanitizing before use. The housing of the bin has a buildup of mineral deposits from moisture present throughout the surface, with light surface rust forming along exposed seams; mostly along the galvanized back and lower edges of the unit. Dents, scratching, and general wear is present on the front of the bin from heavy use in a commercial environment over an extended period.

The two indoor ice maker heads (model SY1474c) are each paired with a corresponding outdoor condensing unit (model CVD1485). Per unit, these energy star rated heads are designed to produce 1235 to 1400 lbs. of ice per day.
The plastic panels of each top are both broken and cracked in areas and may need replacement. A plastic piece along the upper border of the face/access panel is cracked on one unit. The interior components and wiring appear in good condition.

The outdoor condensers utilize "Cool Vapor Defrost", or CVD, technology, which allows the compressor to be installed remotely, rather than directly above, or in the same space as the indoor evaporator units, cutting down on noise, and increasing efficiency.

Prior to salvaging, this system was functional. It has not been tested since salvage, and is not guaranteed to function without repair, recharging, or possible refurbishment.
