Description
Salvaged from Egypt, this set of 2 wrought iron gates stands 119" tall and 58" wide. The set is approximately 100-200 years old and made of high quality iron, hot banded and riveted, with few welds. The set has a beautiful arched top with fleur-de-lis finials. The solid panels at the bottom of the gates are decorated with a diamond ornament surrounded by cast floral motifs. Curved scrollwork adorns the picket section of the gates with 3 metal flower ornaments per gate.

Condition: As typical with salvaged architecture of this age, light, cosmetic and structural flaws are present. The astragal on the left gate and the outer post on the right have disconnected and will need to be reattached. The uppermost flower on the left gate has broken and a cast iron flower from the lower panel is missing.
