Midcentury steel base cabinet with 4 drawers. From the Youngstown Kitchen line manufactured in the 1940s-50s by Mullins Steel Manufacturing. Retro chrome pull handles are mounted to the door and drawer.
Condition: Sturdy construction. Surface dents, dings, scratches and scuffs are present in areas as expected with use over an extended period.

Like most steel manufacturers, Mullins dedicated its production lines to military orders during World War II. After the war, Mullins expanded their Youngstown Kitchen line to include sinks, cabinets, and countertops. All production facilities produced porcelain steel components.
During the great housing boom of the late 40s and 1950s, competition was fierce for kitchen cabinetry. With a nationwide network of showrooms and home salespersons, Mullins touted their Youngstown Kitchen line as the best selling steel kitchen cabinets among 62 competing firms in their 1950s advertising.
