They don't make them like this anymore! This is an Early American antique lock, originally made for a chest or trunk. The lock mechanism would be inset on the front of the piece, with the strap attached to the underside of the lid.
Measurements:
Faceplate is 6.25" wide x 8" long. The hasp is 15" long overall - The keeper to the hinge is 5.5" while the top strap is 4". This is an antique hand wrought piece.
This lock is in excellent condition and works well. Lock, hasp, and key are all included.
