Description
The 2 panel door measures 31 7/8" (W) x 83 1/2"(W) and is hung in a 5 1/2" thick, 33 3/4"(W) x 86 3/8"(H), oak jamb. The solid wooden door has thick oak veneer on both sides, one with a rich, natural stained finish and the other side is painted tan and pale turquoise.
Condition: This door is in good, sturdy condition. A piece of the panel molding on the painted side of the door is separated slightly from the panel. Both sides have minor wear typical of use over an extended period. The lower hinge pin is missing and will need replacement.
History: This door was salvaged from the former Moose Lodge in Jamestown, New York. This building, built in the late 1800's, was previously the mansion of John and Sarah Galloway, parents of the fabled "Lady in Glass". In 1932, the property was acquired by the local Moose Lodge Chapter which incorporated multiple additions to the grand structure.
This building, and items from it, are featured on Season 11, Episode 1, of the Diy Network show, "Salvage Dawgs".
