Reading Hardware mortise lock, No. 01256, early 20th century, (1910s–1930s).
Antique mortise lock body featuring a chrome plated face plate, heavy metal case, traditional skeleton keyhole, square spindle hub, and spring-loaded latch bolt. The aged surface has a naturally distressed patina, scratches and some chrome loss, consistent with vintage architectural hardware. Designed to be recessed into the edge of a wood door and paired with antique door knobs and a spindle.
A great choice for historic home restoration, period-style doors, architectural salvage, or unique hardware projects.
