Kerosene Oil Railroad Switch Lamp or Lantern, Dressel Railway Lamp and Signal Co

Kerosene railroad switch signal lamp or lantern manufactured by the Dressel Railway Lamp and Signal Company. This lamp has four Fresnel lenses - two blue/green and two amber - each surrounded by porcelain enameled "day targets". The blue/green lenses have white targets, while the amber lenses have yellow targets. The top of the assembly is hinged and allows access to the kerosene font or fount inside. The font is marked " The Adams Westlake Company New York - Philadelphia - Chicago".

This piece is in good cosmetic condition with wear consistent with age and use. The housing shows scratches and scuffs. The targets show surface rust in small areas where the enamel has chipped. It has not been tested and will likely need repairs to restore it to functional condition. Glass chimney is not included.
